Diversity & Inclusion Session: Best Recruiting & HR Practices

HRBOR is offering a session for businesses, organizations and government on attracting and retaining talent through implementing diversity and inclusion policies and procedures in their recruiting efforts and HR practices.

The seminar will be conducted by local human resources consultant Julie Woodard from Woodard & Associates, LLC, and Aleea Slappy, the City of Norfolk’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.

Target audiences are business owners, organizations leaders, HR managers, and recruiters who want to learn more about implementing D&I programs.

Topics covered include:

  • Why diversity as a recruiting strategy is important
  • How to establish a commitment to equality and diversity in our recruitment processes
  • Developing Proper D & I Hiring Strategies
  • Five Ways to Recruit for a Diverse Workforce

This event is free and open to all Hampton Roads businesses and organizations in the area. Session will be followed by a networking event at nearby Bold Mariner Brewery which attendees are welcome to join.

Space is limited to one representative per organization, and advance registration is required before March 1 below.
